This is the second Sauder exec. desk for us. The first is too large for us to move cross-country, so we went with this slightly smaller one. This one is ready to receive a computer monitor with a port opening on top and a center pull out drawer that can be used as either a drawer or a fold down shelf for the keyboard. The black inlay top eliminates the fingerprinting that we found so difficult to handle on the solid melamine top of the larger model. Three file drawers plus a supply drawer, nice looking paneled pedestal desk. A winner all around.

I have doubt about the quality while putting it together, it is made of particle board with laminate, so needs to be handled with care, but once done the desk felt very sturdy with 'executive' look, the black melamine inlay is a great design to provide a smooth surface that is spill and scratch resistance. The color is darker cherry which helps hide any minor scratch better. I paid less than 200 on sale, I also get the matching bookcases, totally satisfied with how my home office looked, highly recommended if u are on a budget.

I received this item. Delievered and just dropped at the front door. Item was damaged and to get fixed had to disassemble and return.

This was a gift for my son it was a good price so I feared it would look cheep, it turned out to be a good lookin unit my son was very pleased with it

While my previous desk was good, it was tiny. I had bought a new monitor and wanted to use my old one too, but there was no room. So my husband got this for me as a Christmas gift!

There is no way I can emphasis how good Sauder's manual is for this desk. I've come across some pretty horrid instruction manuals in my time, to the point where I just expect it. But Sauder did a really excellent job. All the pictures are well drawn, screws are drawn to actual size (good for comparing and making sure you're using the right ones), and every step is easy to understand and well written. (Who ever they hired for this manual needs a raise.)

This is not a desk you can build in 30 minutes, it will take a while. It goes faster if you have a second person, though doing it by yourself is possible. Taking your time and reading the directions will be well worth it.

It's a birthday present for my son and it just fits our space. I searched online for quite a while and this one fits our room perfectly! The desk looks steady and feels good. The only negative point is probably the color - it's darker than that in the picture and so is a little out of sync with the other furnitures. Putting it in a bright spot helps.

Worth the money. I had read a scathing review that was posted on almost every web site that sold this product but decided to purchase it anyway since was was so inexpensive. I am very happy with the purchase. It was easy to assemble. The only warning (but not really a complaint) is that it is not sturdy when free standing (e.g not against two corner walls). It shifts slightly if you put a printer on the very top shelf and it starts printing if it is not resting between two corner walls. However, the printer is supposed to be placed on the bottom shelf and the unit is supposed to be flush against a wall. When the unit was placed flush against the wall it was amazing how study it became, even if you place a printer where it is not supposed to go (e.g on the top shelf).

It took me one hour to assemble it ! Clear instructions... I love it ! And for the prices cant beat it

Cheap... $98.00 pressboard (Sawdust glued together) construction.

Incomplete... one of the tubular supports was missing the threaded end for the leveling adjustments so I have it shimmed up on one back leg to keep it from tipping.

but it works... in the small corner I had available.
