This review is from: Sauder Computer Desk in Brushed Maple (Office Product) When my daughter and I first opened up the box and saw all of the pieces, it looked overwhelming. We laid the pieces out on the floor and sat down and started putting it together. Everything fit almost perfectly. The sliding keyboard tray got stuck on the edge of the upper left side door. We adjusted the hinges according to the instructions and all was well. This a great looking desk; the picture doesn't do it justice. It's constructed out of thick, dense particle board making it very sturdy. All we did was follow the instructions and take our time putting it together. It took us about 3-1/2 hours after all was said and done, but the end result was worth every minute. The desk is a great value for the price. I checked other places selling the same one and the cost plus the shipping charges I paid was still less than their retail price without the added shipping costs. I've never seen a company take so much care as to put bumpers around the box and wrap it in plastic. After taking all the pieces out of the box it looked like a big task, but was actually less stressful than furniture I've put together in the past. My wife and I sat down at about 9AM and finished just before noon. I was worried the wood would be cheap as stated in earlier reviews, but was surprised with the quality. I've got a custom built PC as seen in the pictures I uploaded. The tower I'm using is an Antec 900 mid tower and it doesn't quite fit in the cabinet made for the tower. On top of my desk I have a 24 inch monitor and three satellite speakers set up with more space than I know what to do with. It's very easy to keep clean with the cord management system on the desk. You might fool people into thinking you bought a premium wood finished office desk. However, this desk is very shoddily made and difficult to assemble (far from impossible, but vague instructions are annoying at times). The drawers of the desk do not shut properly and are poorly aligned, I have to lift the top drawer to shut the bottom drawer! When I have time will get a drill and realign the top drawer so they fit. Even after careful attention to symmetry and alignment when building the desk, if you look closely almost everything (drawers, panels, boards, etc.) is misaligned. The desk is very functional, the keyboard tray rolls out smoothly and there is tons of storage. I wish they didn't put the cord hole in the middle of the desk since that is where you would want to put your monitor, I had to strategically place some books to be able to put my monitor in the...
